Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Sulaiman Mahbob
Born in 1949 in Pontian, Johor, Tan Sri Dato' Seri Dr. Sulaiman Mahbob earned a Bachelor’s (Hons) in Economics from the University of Malaya, an MSc in Economics from the University of London, and a PhD in Public Affairs from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University, USA.
He spent over 40 years in the Malaysian civil service, starting in the Ministry of Finance (Economics & Budget) and the Ministry of Domestic Trade & Consumer Affairs. In 1995 he became Executive Director of the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research; he led the National Economic Advisory Council’s secretariat during the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis; and from 2006–2009 he was Director‑General of the Economic Planning Unit. He also founded the Institute of Integrity Malaysia and served as its first President (2004–2006)
He’s an Adjunct Professor at INPUMA (UM) and at University Tun Razak, teaching Economics and Public Policy. Since February 2022 he’s been CEO of the National Recovery Council, and he regularly writes op‑eds and gives lectures on economic policy and development. Currently he is Chairman Board of Trustees at D-8 Foundation Malaysia.
Tn. Haji Sharriffudin Ahmad Taff
Tn. Haji Sharriffudin Ahmad Taff has 30 years of working experience where he began his career at the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA) as an Economist from 1976 to 1977. In 1997 he joined Kumpulan Fima bhd (FIMA) where he worked for 8 years initially as a Project Analyst. At FIMA he held various positions where the final position held was as Deputy General Manager of FIMA Instanco Food Packaging Industries Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary company of FIMA. In 1985 he left FIMA to join Koperasi Angkatan Tentera Malaysia Bhd (KT) where he spent 21 years of his working life as General Manager and CEO .
Datuk Seri Kamaludin Bin Md Said
(DGSM, DPNS, DCSM, DMSM, DIMP, JSM, DSM, AMN)
Datuk Seri Kamaludin Bin Md Said holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Malaya, awarded in 1983, providing the legal foundation for his subsequent career.
He began his professional journey at the Central Bank of Malaysia as an administration officer (1983–1985), before moving into legal practice at the High Court of Malaya as a lawyer (1985–1987). In 1987, he entered public service as a magistrate in Batu Gajah/Parit, Perak, a position he held for one year.
From 1988 to 2008, Datuk Seri Kamaludin served in the Attorney General’s Chambers, rising from Federal Counsel to Head of the Trial and Appeal Division. During this period, he also acted as Legal Advisor to the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, demonstrating his versatility in both prosecutorial and advisory capacities.
In the judiciary, he was appointed Judicial Commissioner of the High Court in Kuala Lumpur and Melaka (2012–2014), then elevated to High Court Judge in Seremban and Kuala Lumpur (2014–2018). On 27 April 2018, he joined the Court of Appeal bench, serving until his mandatory retirement in June 2024.
Beyond the bench, he contributed to Malaysia’s legal framework as a member of the Judicial and Legal Services Commission and served on a Royal Commission of Inquiry, reflecting his ongoing commitment to the rule of law and public service.
